Description

Sweet Sorghum is a climate-resilient, tall cereal crop with stalks, which are rich in natural sugars. Traditionally chewed like sugarcane or processed into syrup.  Nutritionally, it is high in antioxidants, iron, and it is gluten-free. The syrup is a rich source of energy, especially useful in anemia-prone populations. This is a great addition to a juicing plan as the sweetness of the stalks will overpower bitterness caused by Bitter Leaf, Ugu, and Scent Leaf.

Also known as: Marchuke, Wetet Begunche, Dawa, Okababa, Feterita, Sweet Jowar, Cane Sorghum, Sorghum Cane, Molasses Grass, Mtama Tamu, Yeqim Mashila, Mtama Wa Sukari, Mapfunde Anotapira, Ipwa, Imphee.
